As you may know, PennDOT has been holding meetings to effect changes and improvements to U.S. Route 30. This work would start at Business U.S. 30/Quarry Road and terminate at the intersection of Route 10. Given the scope of the work and the length of roadway, project work has been broken up into four different sections:
- The Eastern Project (spanning Business U.S. 30 / Quarry Road to Reeceville Road)
- The Route 82 Project
- The Airport Road Project
- The Business U.S. 30 / Route 10 Project
The Eastern Project Area, which will include most of the improvements, is a 7-mile section of U.S. 30 that spans six interchanges and exits. Each of these sections has been reviewed with traffic studies, and multiple potential layouts have been prepared to improve the level of service and address accident-prone sections.

For those of you impacted by this section, voice your concerns, by February 6, 2026 at the provided link. See the orange button “Provide your Input”.
At the western terminus with Route 10, a major redesign is proposed to widen portions of the road and provide alternate ingress/egress routes. Most designs will require extensive rework and the potential closures of some roads.

Right-of-way for this section may need to be taken to reconfigure some adjacent roads/ramps and provide a safe means of travel. Noise studies are also being proposed for these areas to determine what measures, if necessary, would need to be implemented.
