We mention our drones, drills, pipe crawler, total station survey equipment, 3D printers, and AutoCAD quite often, but one piece of equipment that I feel doesn't get as much love is our push camera.

You might be asking, what's a "push camera," and how is it different from our crawler camera?

The push camera, as its name suggests, is designed to be pushed or 'fed' into the inspection area. It boasts a smaller diameter and is capable of inspecting pipes ranging from 3 inches to 12 inches. This makes it particularly suitable for sanitary laterals, stormwater cleanouts, or smaller in-ground stormwater systems. The camera can identify problem locations and issues, such as blockages, leakages, or tree roots, both before and after pipe relining. It also facilitates preventative maintenance for drains and sewer mainlines.

So, how does this help you? One of the key advantages of the push camera is its cost-effectiveness compared to our crawler system. While the crawler requires time for setup, calibration, and pressurization to provide a detailed analysis and report of the system, the push camera is quick to set up, record, and go! It may not offer as many advanced features as the crawler setup, but if you're in need of a quick, less detailed health check or system location, the push camera is the ideal choice.

Where is the sewer lateral? PUSH CAMERA
What's the layout of this inground gutter system? PUSH CAMERA
Need a quick general location for a blockage? PUSH CAMERA
Checking the integrity of newly installed +12in stormwater system? CRAWLER CAMERA

Whatever the situation, whether it be a complete failure of the pipe or an annual checkup of the system, Howell has the tools and know-how to help you complete your project.
