This month marks two years since Denny brought me on board to launch the geotechnical division at Howell, and I’m incredibly grateful for his continued trust and support throughout the journey. As a relatively young geotechnical engineer, the idea of building a new division from the ground up was exciting but definitely intimidating. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I knew I had the skills and experience to be successful, and I was ready to roll up my sleeves. It hasn’t always been easy, but the growth we’ve seen in what feels like two months, not two years, has been incredible.

Today, our geotechnical team has grown to 5 professionals offering a wide range of services, including subsurface field investigations, geotechnical drilling, laboratory testing, construction inspections and more. We’ve built a strong foundation and continue to expand our capabilities to better support our clients and projects across the region. I could not have come this far without my team, so I thank them for all of their hard work and effort to get us where we are today and for continuing to stick with me on the road ahead.

As I reflect on the past two years, I’ve been thinking about the progress we’ve made and the opportunities we’ve embraced to grow and improve. Every day, we aim to build on our momentum—learning, evolving and sharing knowledge across the team. I’m proud of everything we’ve accomplished so far, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.
