At Terrain, we believe investing in our local communities goes beyond the projects we design and survey. We look for other opportunities to get involved where we live and work.
As a civil engineering company, we see a strong connection between our team's dedication and resilience on the projects we design and the values student athletes represent. High School sports are more than just the practices and the big games. The true essence of sports lies in the lessons we learn, which are carried over into all aspects of life. Games emphasize the importance of teamwork, discipline, responsibility and leadership. These skills extend well beyond the field or court and are the main principles that drive our work at Terrain every day.
We are proud to announce that Terrain, a Howell Company, is an enthusiastic sponsor of the Kent Island High School Athletic Program. We are honored to cheer on these student athletes as they represent their local community with pride, determination and sportsmanship. Through this commitment, we can all help provide resources and opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach. Supporting student athletes means supporting the growth and confidence of the next generation of potential engineers, surveyors, and (yes) all other fields.
We spend our days planning and designing projects that develop the communities we all love and cherish, while also taking responsibility for the many environmentally sensitive areas surrounding our communities. This ensures that development is sustainable and provides for future growth or redevelopment for the next generation.
We took a step back from our daily efforts as engineers and surveyors and examined how else we can responsibly improve our communities, build relationships, foster growth and work together. We began to realize the connection between the skills and disciplines we utilize every day and the lessons learned from being a part of an athletic team. Our student athletes also see the dedication of all those who ensure they arrive at practice on time and transport them from venue to venue multiple times a week, even after a hard day's work.
These are the skills, values and responsibilities that will equip the next generation for the future, provide the keys to success and create tomorrow's leaders. We are grateful to be a small part of these efforts and look forward to continuing to support our neighbors in meaningful ways.
Go Bucs!
