The Howell Surveying construction stakeout team has been on site for Jurich Inc. at the Creek Road site in Pocopson Township. The road is falling off the edge of the slope down towards the railroad that runs along the creek. Site conditions are tricky with an active railroad and limited road closure times, in addition to the challenge of installing a retaining wall on a slope. Most walls have a level bottom, but this one has a slope and a few breakpoints, so our team has been on-site to get them started and check the slope. The wall was staked every 10' and various benchmarks were established to aid in the construction of the wall. Upon completion, the wall will stand approximately 42" above the new paving, ensuring stability for the road and eliminating any concerns of washing away.
