Howell Construction Stakeout is proud to be supporting Kinsley Construction in northern Berks County as they replace an aging bridge with a newer, more modern structure over Maiden Creek. The team is hard at work, with exciting progress already underway.

HCS is providing construction stakeout services for all phases of construction. So far, we’ve completed the E&S and survey control, and the old bridge is officially out. Next on the schedule is staking and building the concrete structures (abutments) that will eventually support the new bridge.

This job site has quite a few challenges. First, the new bridge is being prebuilt off-site and will be placed with a crane, so there is no room for error when it comes to dimensions. Second, the space is tight, and the creek is just on the other side of the shoring. Where we're standing in some of the photos puts us about 13 to 20 feet below water level depending on the day.

It’s a challenging site, but a really neat project to be a part of. We’ll keep you posted with more updates when we make it over to the other side in the coming weeks.
